We are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our clients busy Transport team in Surrey. You ll be joining an award-winning consultancy who are specialists in the Transport sector & work across all sectors, including residential, retail, leisure, office, distribution and industrial projects, education and healthcare, and mixed-use schemes.You\βll be joining a team of Planners who are experts at demonstrating the transport implications of development & their involvement at appeal, provides their clients with the highest level of credibility in demonstrating transport planning matters in respect to policy, assessment, technical guidance, directions and practical matters of project deliverability.They provide transport planning, highway design, flood risk and drainage input at all stages of the development process; from feasibility, through the planning application process and then to detailed design.What s on offer Flexible / Hybrid workingBonus schemePrivate healthcare planChartership supportPaid membership to a professional institution (CIHT, ICE, etc)Regular social activitiesThe role Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and supporting technical notesLead stakeholder engagement, including liaison with local authorities, statutory bodies and design teamsMentor and technically review the work of junior staff, providing guidance and professional development supportEnsure compliance with health & safety, quality assurance, and company procedures.Undertake and oversee transport modelling, forecasting, and data analysis using industry-standard toolsInterpret national, regional, and local transport policy and apply it effectively to development proposalsWhat you need to succeed Minimum 3.5 years relevant Transport Planning experience.An accredited Degree in an applicable analytical subject for example Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Mathematics etcAn understanding/experience of the UK planning processSets and achieves high standard of work with a particular focus on details, accuracy and quality of own workMeets the given brief with well-presented information, completed to agreed timescalesExcellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex dataApproachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients.Computer literate with advanced use of Microsoft OfficeGood levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheetsUnderstanding of the use of AutoCADUnderstanding of GIS software
