The role Leading civil engineering design projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction stages. Delivering highway and drainage design solutions for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specifications and calculations. Managing project programmes, resources and technical delivery. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians. Liaising with clients, local authorities, contractors and other design disciplines. Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards, on time and within budget. Supporting the continued growth and development of the wider engineering team. What you need to succeed A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Significant experience within UK civil engineering consultancy/design environments. Strong technical experience in highways and drainage design. Experience delivering infrastructure solutions for residential, commercial or mixed-use developments. A strong understanding of relevant design standards and industry guidance. Experience using design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The ability to manage projects independently and support the development of junior team members. Ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation. Experience preparing Section 38, Section 104, Section 106 and Section 278 agreements. Experience coordinating with local authorities and external stakeholders. Previous experience acting as a technical lead on civil engineering projects
