A well-established, privately owned residential developer is looking to appoint a Project Civil Engineer to join its in-house technical team. The role offers excellent exposure to the full development lifecycle, from early land stages through to construction and adoption. This is an ideal opportunity for a civil engineer currently working in consultancy or housebuilding who is looking for a client-side role with real ownership of projects.
The Role
- Take responsibility for managing and coordinating all civil engineering aspects of residential developments, working closely with external consultants, local authorities, and internal planning, land, and construction teams.
- Manage civil engineering design for residential sites (highways, drainage, levels & utilities).
- Coordinate external civil engineering consultants from concept to delivery.
- Oversee technical approvals including S104, S38, S278 and S106.
- Support land appraisals, technical due diligence, and planning submissions.
- Liaise with local authorities, water companies, and statutory undertakers.
- Ensure designs are technically compliant, adoptable, and commercially sound.
- Provide technical support through construction and adoption phases.
About You
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering UK residential / housing infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of highways and drainage design.
- Familiar with adoptable standards and approval processes.
- Confident managing multiple projects and consultant teams.
- Practical, commercially aware, and solutions-focused.
