We are looking for an experienced Flood Risk Engineer to join a busy consultancy on an initial 6-month contract, Outside IR35. The role will focus predominantly on delivering Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and drainage strategies for residential developments, ranging from smaller schemes through to major developments of 100+ homes.
The Role
- Managing and delivering your own workload across a variety of residential projects, including:
- Preparing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
- Developing flood risk mitigation strategies
- Preparing surface water drainage strategies
- SuDS design and assessment
- Hydraulic modelling and drainage calculations
- Supporting residential planning applications
- Reviewing flood risk constraints and technical information
- Liaising with developers, LLFAs, planning authorities and other stakeholders
- Producing technical reports and supporting documentation
- Supporting schemes from feasibility and planning through to detailed design
What We're Looking For
- Previous residential development experience is essential.
- You should have:
- Strong experience producing Flood Risk Assessments
- Experience working on residential developments ranging from small schemes to 100+ unit developments
- Strong drainage and SuDS knowledge
- Experience supporting projects through the planning process
- Good knowledge of UK flood risk requirements
- Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical report-writing skills
- Experience with:
- Causeway Flow
- MicroDrainage
- Site 3D
