Are you a Graduate / Assistant Civil Engineer with a drive to succeed in Highways & Drainage schemes? We are looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer to provide design expertise and support on a varied range of schemes from small highway improvements to large residential and commercial developments within one of the UK s leading independent consultancies.
For the right individual, this is an excellent opportunity to help develop a strategically important sector of the business. You can expect to work on several projects ranging from small scale development up to larger scale projects ranging between 150 to 5000 residential units and supporting infrastructure.

What you need to succeed
- Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering (or an equivalent/similar qualification) and relevant experience in a similar role, with good knowledge of both highway and drainage design.
- You must have experience in the design of both commercial and residential developments including infrastructure, external works and drainage.
- To have knowledge and experience of highway design standards DMRB and Manual for Streets.
- To have knowledge and experience of highway and drainage adoption processes and legal requirements for S278, S38 and S104.
- Knowledge and experience of earthworks strategies.
- Good understanding and use of software packages including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Site 3D and Flow.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to maintain good records.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
