Company: Multi £bn AUM Private Equity Fund (Global Infrastructure Portfolio)
Strangford Search has been exclusively retained by a Private Equity Fund seeking a dedicated legal counsel for its London Infrastructure team.
Our client manages a wide range of investments and assets, including digital infrastructure. They are seeking a talented infrastructure lawyer to support the team on major investments across Europe. The successful candidate will work closely with the deal teams from the bidding stage through to financial close and asset management.
The role reports directly to the General Counsel of the Fund.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead legal due diligence on potential infrastructure and energy acquisitions
- Draft, review and negotiate transaction documents, including share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and financing contracts.
- Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advise senior management and investment teams on legal risks and regulatory requirements.
- Support ongoing corporate governance and compliance for existing portfolio companies.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction).
- 3 to 6 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) gained at a top-tier law firm or an in-house legal team.
- Strong background in infrastructure, energy or private equity transactions and open to someone from either a corporate or finance background.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting and project management skills.
- Ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, commercial terms.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a keen interest in understanding business drivers and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Desirable criteria:
- French speaking ability would be a bonus.
- Willingness to consider global relocation over the medium term.
