Strange + Wright Recruitment Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business in Peterborough who are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join their Senior Management Team.
This is a broad and hands-on leadership role with responsibility for Facilities, Engineering, Warehouse Operations and Health & Safety across the site.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the business operates safely, efficiently and in line with its growth objectives.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will lead a multi-functional team, driving operational performance whilst maintaining high standards of compliance, safety and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading the Facilities, Engineering and Warehouse functions.
- Holding overall responsibility for site Health & Safety and driving a positive safety culture.
- Managing and developing a team of Maintenance Engineers, Warehouse personnel and a Health & Safety Coordinator.
- Implementing and managing preventative maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and improve asset performance.
- Overseeing warehouse operations, stock accuracy, picking performance and dispatch activities.
- Managing facilities, contractors and site services to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Controlling facilities and waste management budgets.
- Leading operational improvement and capital projects.
- Monitoring and reporting on operational KPIs and performance metrics.
- Working closely with Production, Quality, Commercial and Finance teams to support wider business objectives.
- The Individual
We are looking for a confident and proactive operational leader with experience gained within a manufacturing environment.
- Significant experience in senior operations, engineering or facilities management.
- Experience leading maintenance engineering teams and preventative maintenance programmes.
- Warehouse management experience.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Budget management experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people development skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
Desirable experience includes
- NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Engineering qualifications or apprenticeship background.
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience delivering capital projects.
- The Package
- £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
