A real estate investment and asset manager, focused on identifying, acquiring and managing high-quality property investments, is seeking an ambitious Analyst or Senior Analyst to join their investment and asset management team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial modelling skills, commercial judgement and an interest in real estate investment to gain hands-on exposure to acquisitions, portfolio strategy and active asset management.
The Role
The Analyst / Senior Analyst will support the team across new investment opportunities, financial underwriting and the management of existing assets. The role will be highly analytical, but also commercial and transaction-focused, with exposure to senior stakeholders, external advisers, operating partners and investment committees.
Key Responsibilities
- Building, reviewing and maintaining detailed real estate financial models, including cash flow forecasts, debt structures, returns analysis and sensitivities.
- Supporting the underwriting of new investment opportunities, including market research, comparable analysis, business plan assessment and risk analysis.
- Preparing investment memoranda, presentations and committee materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with due diligence processes, working with legal, tax, technical, valuation and other professional advisers.
- Monitoring the performance of existing assets against business plan, budget and underwriting assumptions.
- Supporting asset management initiatives, including leasing analysis, capex planning, refinancing, disposals and value creation strategies.
- Preparing regular portfolio and asset-level reporting, including performance analysis and investor materials.
- Conducting market research across relevant geographies and sectors to support investment strategy and decision-making.
- Liaising with property managers, operating partners, agents and other third parties to obtain, analyse and challenge asset-level information.
- Supporting ad hoc strategic projects across acquisitions, financing, portfolio management and investor reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in real estate investment, asset management, corporate finance, private equity, fund management or a related analytical role.
- Strong financial modelling skills, ideally with direct experience building real estate cash flow models.
- A good understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, including rental income, occupancy, capex, debt financing, IRR, equity multiple, yield and valuation metrics.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Advanced Excel skills; PowerPoint skills are also important.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to think critically about risks, assumptions and value drivers.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under time pressure.
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to take ownership.
