About the company and the role:
An opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a highly entrepreneurial, private Real Estate investment advisory and asset management firm. You will work closely with the founding partners who have significant expertise, and an enviable track record, in deploying and managing capital across global Real Estate markets and strategies, on behalf of investors including family offices, HNWI and institutions. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to shape the financial strategy of the business and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Implement financial strategies to support business growth; provide financial analysis and guidance to support decision-making across all business areas; identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure stability.
- Financial Operations: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal/external reporting; ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, payroll, and corporate tax; manage annual audits and maintain robust financial systems.
- Fund Administration: Oversee investment structures, including capital calls, distributions, and board meetings; liaise with third-party service providers such as fund administrators, tax advisers, and legal teams; manage property manager accounting and cash movements.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards; monitor compliance with debt facilities and financial covenants; coordinate investor reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate finance or a related field.
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills with a strategic mindset.
- Familiarity with corporate financial law, risk management practices, and investment structures.
- Experience working with Joint Venture and Limited Partnership Agreements.
- Proven expertise in consolidation accounting, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-specialists.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in financial software and systems.
