A leading global real estate investment manager is looking to appoint a Fund Controller to join a high-performing team supporting a flagship open-ended global real estate fund.

This is a broad and high-profile opportunity covering financial control, fund reporting, investment valuation, performance measurement, investor reporting, treasury, tax and operational oversight.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance, investment and portfolio management professionals, with significant exposure to institutional investors, consultants and external advisors.

The Role

  • Leading the quarterly fund reporting cycle, including reviewing investment valuations, accounts, distributions and investor reporting.
  • Reviewing investment valuations in line with fund policy and relevant INREV guidelines, with exposure to senior pricing and governance committees.
  • Taking responsibility for fund performance calculations, performance fee models, hurdle rates and related calculations.
  • Overseeing management fee rebates, expense ratios and other key fund-level calculations.
  • Managing relationships with external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors and other service providers.
  • Supporting investor and consultant requests, DDQs, RFPs and preparation of investor materials.
  • Overseeing tax and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Supporting financial and operational due diligence and the execution of new investment transactions.
  • Working closely with treasury on cash management and debt-related matters.
  • Supervising and developing junior team members.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and data integrity, including the use of automation and AI-enabled technology.
  • Supporting wider projects including fund restructurings and new vehicle formations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification with 5+ years' PQE.
  • Experience within a Big Four/top-tier accountancy firm and/or real estate or private equity fund environment.
  • Strong financial control, analytical and fund accounting skills.
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with financial reporting, investment valuations and/or performance measurement.
  • Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, committees and boards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with investors, consultants and external advisors.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and demanding reporting deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement, automation and emerging technology.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, INREV and fund accounting principles would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Dynamo or similar fund accounting systems is desirable but not essential.
