Location: West Midlands | Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus (DOE) | Sector: Building Services | Low-Carbon Retrofit | Education & Healthcare Estates
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Contracts Manager to lead decarbonisation and plant room retrofit projects across colleges, universities and hospitals. This role sits at the heart of our Net Zero delivery team, managing major programmes focused on modernising plant rooms, improving energy efficiency and transitioning estates to low‑carbon heating systems. You will oversee technically complex mechanical refurbishments in live environments, helping public‑sector clients meet funding, compliance and Net Zero targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver HVAC and decarbonisation projects across college, university and hospital estates
- Manage full plant room refurbishments and upgrades, including:
- Heat pumps and hybrid systems
- Boiler plant replacement and cascade systems
- Pressurisation units, LTHW/MTHW systems and pipework renewals
- Pumps, controls, BMS upgrades and metering
About You
- Proven Contracts Manager / Project Manager experience in HVAC or Building Services
- Strong background in plant room refurbishments within healthcare or education estates
- Solid knowledge of low‑carbon and renewable heating technologies
- Commercially astute with JCT / NEC contract experience
- Comfortable working in live hospital and campus environments
- SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold and mechanical qualifications preferred
