We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import Coordinator to manage end-to-end import operations for shipments into the UK and Europe. This role is critical in ensuring timely delivery, customs compliance, accurate system updates, and effective cost control within a food sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and report on all shipments to TRS UK and Rotterdam, managing ETAs and open POs.
- Prepare and submit customs documentation for UK and EU imports, ensuring compliance with food import regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders (Ceva, Mainfreight), agents, and banks to prevent delays and avoid charges.
- Update shipment dates and PO information in Synergex and Order Manager to maintain accurate MRP planning.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support technical documentation and product traceability requirements.
- Review and dispute supplier and freight invoices, including milling charges.
- Attend weekly operational meetings and provide holiday cover within the team.
About You
- Strong knowledge of import processes, customs clearance, Incoterms, and freight forwarding.
- Previous experience within the food, FMCG, or food import sector is highly desirable.
- Familiar with food-related documentation such as health certificates and certificates of origin.
- Confident verifying import documentation and managing shipment trackers.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- ERP/MRP system experience and strong Excel skills desirable.
