Straight-Line are currently hiring a Technical Contracts Engineer to be based in Walsall, West Midlands. As a Technical Contracts Engineer, you’ll manage the technical and commercial aspects of client contracts, ensuring projects are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget. You’ll act as the bridge between clients, production teams, and internal departments, providing technical guidance and ensuring all contract requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process incoming project enquiries
- Analyse requirements and compile detailed cost breakdowns (materials, labour, tooling, etc.)
- Prepare accurate quotations and estimate man-hours
- Process customer purchase orders and raise internal procurement requests
- Develop detailed work packages and distribute documentation to production teams
- Monitor project performance, budgets, and key milestones
- Liaise closely with QA and production teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Provide ongoing technical support and clarification throughout contract delivery
- Design and assist with the development of bespoke fixtures and jigs
- Support the integration of new equipment and manufacturing technologies
- Assist with preparation of dispatch and invoicing documentation
- Follow up on previous quotations and gather client feedback
