Our client, a well-established and highly respected heating and plumbing contractor, is seeking an experienced Gas Heating & Plumbing Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer looking to secure a long-term position with a stable business that values quality workmanship, customer service, and employee development. The role offers a varied workload across domestic heating and plumbing systems, together with excellent earning potential and ongoing support.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installations on domestic gas heating and plumbing systems. You will work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of domestic gas boilers and central heating systems
- Servicing and maintenance of gas boilers and gas fires
- Servicing and maintenance of unvented hot water cylinders
- Carrying out Landlord Gas Safety Inspections (CP12s)
- Completing plumbing repairs and remedial works
- Installing, sizing, and commissioning boilers, cylinders, radiators, and associated heating equipment
- Accurately completing job reports and documentation using electronic devices
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
- Managing van stock and ensuring efficient use of materials
- Maintaining company equipment, vehicles, and assets to a high standard
Requirements
Applicants must hold the following current qualifications:
- CCN1
- CENWAT
- CKR1
- CPA1
- HTR1
- HWSS (G3 Unvented)
In addition, candidates should possess:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a domestic gas engineering role
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Own hand tools suitable for domestic gas, heating, and plumbing work
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
