I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering business for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative to join their site-based maintenance team in Winfrith. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with both electrical and mechanical experience to join a business investing heavily in its facilities, equipment, and people.

Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and safe operation of site assets, whilst supporting ongoing improvement and project activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across site equipment and assets
  • Diagnose faults and undertake reactive maintenance repairs efficiently and safely
  • Support installation, commissioning, and modification projects
  • Conduct inspections, condition monitoring, and statutory maintenance checks
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and permit-to-work procedures
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to minimise downtime and maximise asset reliability
Candidate RequirementsEssential
  • Recognised apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Plumbing
  • Building repairs
  • At least 5 years' maintenance experience within an industrial or process environment
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as MaintMaster, SAP, or Maximo
  • Understanding of permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • Mechanical apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience supporting installation and commissioning projects
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, CCNSG, JIB, or CITB certifications
  • Previous experience within a highly regulated or safety-critical environment
