We are now looking to recruit a Skilled Operative to join an expanding team.

The Role

As a Skilled Operative, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality civil engineering and surfacing projects. Your duties will vary daily and will utilise your existing skills and qualifications across a range of site activities. This is a hands-on role requiring experience in core groundwork and highway-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out kerbing, edging, and paving works to a high standard
  • Undertake low-level drainage installation and repairs
  • Perform ground levelling, preparation, and reinstatement works
  • Assist with and carry out landscaping and finishing works on projects
  • Follow instructions from site supervisors and complete tasks efficiently
  • Ensure all work meets required specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and welfare regulations
  • Work collaboratively with the team while also being able to work independently

Please note: duties may vary depending on project requirements.

Working Hours

40 hours per week (typically 7:30am – 5:00pm onsite). Additional hours, night work, and weekend work may be required. Travel time (beyond the first 30 minutes) is paid.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in civil engineering, highways, or groundwork projects
  • Proven ability in kerbing, drainage, levelling, and landscaping
  • A positive, can-do attitude with strong work ethic
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and maintain high standards
  • Valid CSCS card (essential)
  • Streetworks or CPCS tickets (advantageous)
  • Full UK driving licence
