We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Building Maintenance Engineer with a strong plumbing background to join our on-site facilities maintenance team. This is a permanent, site-based position responsible for maintaining a large commercial facility, ensuring the building and its services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of an established maintenance team in a single location, without the need to travel between sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Undertake plumbing repairs including toilets, taps, pipework, drainage, valves and sanitary ware.
  • Complete general building fabric maintenance including carpentry, painting, patch plastering, ceiling and flooring repairs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify potential maintenance issues before they become faults.
  • Support contractors working on site where required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Work closely with the wider facilities team to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
About You
  • Proven experience in a building maintenance or facilities maintenance role.
  • Qualified plumber (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Multi-skilled with good knowledge of general building fabric repairs.
  • Able to diagnose faults and work independently to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety within a maintenance environment.
Desirable
  • Experience working within commercial, healthcare, manufacturing, education or industrial facilities.
  • Basic electrical or mechanical maintenance experience.
