Our client, a well-established engineering and fabrication company, is looking to recruit an experienced Coded Welder to join their growing team. The Role
As a Coded Welder, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding work in line with approved welding procedures, engineering drawings, and industry standards. You'll play a key role in supporting fabrication, construction, and maintenance projects while ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding using approved procedures and techniques.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Carry out welding using MMA (Stick), MIG, MAG, TIG, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding processes as required.
- Ensure all welds meet relevant codes, standards, and customer specifications.
- Complete visual inspections of finished welds and assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) where required.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, fitting, and cleaning prior to welding.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools to a high standard.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Report any defects, equipment faults, or non-conformances promptly.
- Work closely with supervisors, fabricators, fitters, and other team members to ensure projects are delivered on time.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Essential
- Current coded welder qualifications and valid welding certifications.
- Proven experience within industrial, structural, pipe, or fabrication welding.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding procedures.
- A strong understanding of welding codes and industry standards.
- A solid commitment to health and safety.
Desirable
- Experience within construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Additional certifications such as Confined Space, Working at Height, or Forklift.
- Experience welding stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy materials.
