Straight-Line are currently hiring a Warehouse Operative/Site Operations Technician to join a team in Winfrith Newburgh, Dorset. The Warehouse Operative is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the site, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning activities. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- The role may involve working in hazardous conditions and requires adherence to strict safety protocols.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
- To perform tasks supporting radioactive/chemical waste projects in preparation of radioactive waste packages and loads for onward disposal.
- Carry out processing operations for numerous process plant applications involved in cementation, super-compaction, size reduction, sort and segregation, decontamination, and chemical processing procedures.
- Perform plant upkeep operations & housekeeping duties.
- Move packages using FLT, Crane and Manual handling techniques.
- Working at height.
Person Specification:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and indoor settings.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Able to wear RPE and full PPE to enable classified work.
- Be able to get SV cleared.
- Pass a Classified worker medical.
- Deliver when required samples for testing for radiological uptake and for drug and alcohol testing.
