Straight-Line Civils are currently hiring a Mechanical Engineer in a workshop located in Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk. This candidate will be reporting to the engineering managers while also communicating well with other engineers and passing on relevant information to their manager. Key Responsibilities: * Provide a pro-active approach to the prevention of equipment failure and ensuring the schedule is carried out as planned * Ensuring that all work is completely safe, efficient, and compliant * Resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion * Support business production goals Desirable Skills and Qualifications: * Technical certification or degree qualification – level 2 minimum * Technical knowledge of electrical systems * At least 5 years of experience in a similar position * Mechanically Biased * Skills – PLC, hydraulics, temperature control, instrumentation, welding, FLT/MEWP license Benefits: * Salary – £38,303 basic + £2k call out allowance * 25 days of annual holiday + 8 days of bank holiday * Pension and insurance * Training opportunities * Informal working atmosphere with an experienced team Hours – 08:00 – 16:00 Monday – Friday with 1 in 3 weeks on call (7 days) This is a permanent contract with an expanding local company.
