Straight Forward Recruitment are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Product Specification Technician to join our clients Product Development team in Brandon. Working across the full product development lifecycle, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and managing accurate product specifications and technical documentation. You will ensure that product information is complete, up to date, controlled and compliant with agreed customer and internal requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working across multiple projects and collaborating with teams across NPD, Product Development, Production, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory and Artwork. Location: Brandon Salary: Β£28,000 per annum (Β£14.35 per hour) Department: Product Development / NPD Reporting to: Technical Managing Director / Project Manager Days Hours: Monday to Friday 08h00-16h00 (30 min unpaid lunch break) Paid 37.5 hours per week Key Responsibilities Create, maintain and update product specifications, technical documents and product data. Ensure specifications accurately reflect approved formulations, components, packaging and manufacturing requirements. Manage specification changes throughout the product development lifecycle. Ensure all technical information is accurate, complete and approved before products move into production. Work closely with NPD and Product Development teams to support new product launches. Liaise with suppliers to obtain, review and verify technical information, specifications and supporting documentation. Maintain accurate records of packaging components and finished products. Review artwork and product information to ensure they align with approved specifications. Maintain product documentation, ensuring information is controlled, traceable and kept up to date. Support the effective management of product data and technical records. Contribute to the continuous improvement of specification processes, systems and documentation. Support multiple product development projects while managing priorities and deadlines effectively. About You We are looking for someone who is: Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Methodical, accurate and committed to maintaining high standards of quality. Confident working with technical information, specifications and product data. Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines. A confident communicator who can work effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers. Proactive, reliable and able to work independently. Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Able to work collaboratively across different departments and functions. Keen to learn and develop within a product development environment. Desirable Experience Experience within a product development, technical, specification, manufacturing or FMCG environment would be advantageous. Experience working with product specifications, technical documentation, packaging information, product data or NPD processes would also be beneficial.
