Straight Forward Recruitment are actively recruiting Production Operatives for a cutting-edge vertical farming facility based in Easton, Norwich. This facility uses innovative technology to grow fresh herbs and salads indoors, all year round.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work with a chance of a permanent contract after 12 weeks.
Location: Easton, Norwich
Hours: Monday to Friday 06:00 – 14:00
Future Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, 06:00 – 18:00
Pay: £12.21 – £12.27 per hour (after successful 2-week training).
Note: Pay after 12 weeks: £12.56 per hour
Contract: Temp to Perm after 12 weeks
Duties will include:
- Placing wet mats into aluminium trays
- Seeding mats accurately
- Trimming and sizing products to meet customer specifications
- Manual weighing and bulk packing of produce
- Packing finished goods ready for distribution
- Preparing production lines for daily operations
- Carrying out hygiene duties: cleaning, mopping, and general tidying
Working Conditions & PPE:
- General working area temperature: 18°C
- Packing room temperature: 8°C – suitable clothing is recommended
- Full PPE provided: overalls, hairnet, wellington boots
- Additional PPE (face masks and safety glasses) required in some areas
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
- Comfortable working in cooler environments
- Must be reliable, hard-working, and team-focused
- Able to adapt to a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern after initial training
- Own transport is essential due to rural location and shift times
