Stradbroke is an excellent community school with a real family feel. As consistently one of the highest performing schools in the region, Stradbroke combines high academic standards with high levels of pastoral care. We provide a wide ranging co-curricular programme and proudly fulfil SET’s vision of providing a world class education locally. We aim to be a centre of excellence for learning and teaching, where all students achieve the highest standards in their education, their personal development, their behaviour and conduct. Our latest Ofsted inspection in Nov 2023 was ungraded but reported we were “likely to be outstanding” on a graded inspection.

THE ROLE

The school caters for students of all abilities from its local community, including those with SEND. Due to an increase in the number of students in the school who require additional support, we are looking to increase our Teaching Assistant (TA) staffing. The successful candidate would be mainly classroom based supporting students to access their learning but would also potentially work with small groups to complete tailored interventions. The SEND Department plays a crucial role in the success of students and therefore a commitment to wider opportunities such as attending trips or being a first aider would be an advantage.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; therefore, all applicants must be prepared to undergo a number of checks to confirm their suitability to work with children and young people. In accordance with the Department of Education’s “Keeping Children Safe in Education”, references will be sought on all short‑listed candidates before interview. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list. If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post. Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
