We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team. The Support Worker will work Monday - Friday with hours varying between 9am and 6pm and will work as and when required between those times. Hours to be further discussed during interview.

The Support Worker works as part of a team providing services to vulnerable individuals (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health) and their carers. They will provide personal care and low level care tasks to the individual needs of the client assessed by the appropriate professionals.

Joining Bonus: £150 (t's & c's apply)

Responsibilities:

  • Befriending service
  • Chaperone
  • Sitting for carer relief
  • Talking/socialising and interacting with client
  • Assisted shopping

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Full driving licence
  • Access to a car for work purposes
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent
  • 6 months experience in formal care setting
  • Knowledge of Domiciliary care minimum standards

Successful applicants must be willing to carry out Access NI check and register with Northern Ireland Social Care Council. Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for.

This position falls within the exceptions set out in Article 10(2)(b) of the Sex Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 1976 (as amended). Due to the genuine occupational qualification for this position, there may be a limited number of positions available for male applicants at this time.
