Located at the former Radlett Aerodrome site in Hertfordshire, SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett will deliver a state-of-the-art rail freight terminal complete with extensive distribution warehouses and over 600 acres of enhanced green space. The development aims to shift freight transportation from road to rail, significantly reducing carbon emissions and road congestion. Construction is anticipated to take place over the next three years. The scheme also promises numerous community and environmental benefits, including biodiversity net gain, employment and training opportunities, and integrated transport improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the internal interface between the Design, Construction and Temporary Works Teams
- Monitor adherence to the contractor’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Review design information and construction methodology
- Review design and construction programs
- Participate in detailed design development
- Ensure a high standard of health and safety during both design and construction
- Liaise with client representatives, other Main Works Civil Contracts, Railway Systems Contract(s), stakeholders and interfacing parties
- Manage and chair interdisciplinary checks and interdisciplinary reviews
- Co-ordinate Instrumentation and Monitoring requirements
- Understand the Clients Environment and Sustainability policies and ensure that the requirements are implemented on the project
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working on civil engineering or construction projects (ideally highways, infrastructure, or major projects).
- Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and standards (e.g., Environmental Permitting Regulations, waste duty of care, ISO 14001).
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
