Overview
STRABAG in Manchester, England, United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to maintain and ensure the integrity of ledgers and the control environment for the project, while building close working relationships with the commercial and delivery teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and ensure integrity of ledgers and control environment for the project, building close working relationships with the commercial and delivery teams.
- Produce monthly and ad-hoc reporting requirements including rolling forecasts, cash-flows, balance sheet reconciliations and other reporting requirements.
- Understand the commercial contracts in use to challenge the commercial position, ensuring reporting represents a fair and accurate reflection of contract performance.
- Work closely with Senior Management to improve project reporting and reduce commercial risk.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing of costs to the client, including management and collection of aged debts.
- Ensure cash forecasts are robustly prepared and accurately reported.
- Work with commercial teams to minimise the WIP position and achieve cash collection targets.
- Provide governance around the project delegated authority process to ensure compliance at all times and provide controls to eliminate non-conforming authorisations, purchases and retrospective purchase orders.
- Oversee production of staff utilisation forecasts to reduce non-productivity and provide an accurate forecast of staff recoverability.
- Expenses management, covering processing and compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- 2 Year PQE accountant with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA).
- Experience in a project-based finance team within the construction, infrastructure or similar industry.
- Strong communication skills.
