Responsibilities
- Establishment and leadership of the electrical teams, which will be based at various locations across the 110km route.
- Overseeing the design, procurement and installation of electrical systems.
- Development of solutions for both temporary and permanent HV and LV distribution systems to deliver electrical power to plant, equipment, facilities, lighting, tools, etc.
- Implementation of Safe Systems of Work and hold Senior Authorised Person role for the project.
- Ensure that all Authorised Persons are fully familiar with the operation and maintenance requirements of the site systems for which they are responsible.
- Control of isolations and energisation on all temporary and permanent electrical installations.
- Assessment of construction and electrical risks, including development and implementation of mitigation measures.
- Forecasting and management of temporary electrical power.
- Determination of required resources for electrical works, including labour and equipment.
- Ensure reconciliation of faults and or defects in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with the programme and budget, identifying strategies to improve schedule and cost performance.
- Preparation of periodic reports on H&S, quality, cost and schedule performance.
- Ensure team’s preparation of all necessary documents related to the construction process such as quantity recording, construction diary, etc.
- Planning of material and equipment, ensuring adequacy of information to optimise equipment and activities.
- Guiding and developing the electrical team in line with company culture and values.
Qualifications
- HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent/higher.
- Authorised Person.
- Experience of managing an electrical team on large civil engineering projects.
- TBM tunnelling experience.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS PQP.
