Overview
Senior Planning Manager to lead planning for major UK civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will drive schedules, risk analysis, and interfaces with partners and the client, shaping delivery through STRABAG-PLAN practices. You’ll mentor the Planning team and ensure robust reporting and as-built data feedback. This role offers influence on landmark projects and a collaborative, innovative work environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage programme production and use as project control tools
- Collate progress data and update the programme accurately
- Lead programme risk assessment and mitigation implementation
- Review reports, narratives, and programmes for quality and accuracy
- Coordinate interfaces with partners, supply chain, and third parties
- Input and challenge labour, cost, and resource profiles against estimates and budgets
- Forecast potential problems and propose mitigations to enable proactive actions
- Review change/compensation events and handle disputes as Planning specialist
- Interface with other functional leads across the Business Unit
- Ensure compliance with STRA-PLAN procedures and guidelines
- Provide input into STRA-PLAN procedures and guidelines
- Produce as-built data for feedback to Business Development and Planning teams
- Conduct regular development-target reviews with Planning personnel
- Promote information sharing and best practice across units
- Report data and progress to Head of Planning
- Review Employer’s Requirements, Contract Data and Works Information for deficiencies
- Lead the Planning function on assigned projects/units
- Ensure timely production of contract planning information for project teams and clients
- Pre-employment screening is required
Key requirements
- Membership of Professional Institution
- Advanced competence in Planning software
- Experience with planning techniques in tendering and contract delivery
- Advanced understanding of BIM and 4D planning
- Advanced knowledge of Safety, Environment and Risk Management
- Strong communication skills
- Experience and specialist knowledge of contracts the business operates within
- Advanced knowledge of resourcing and cost loading programmes
- Management experience of a Planning team
- Experience in Risk management and tendering
- Experience in project management at senior level
- Experience of managing QSRA on complex projects
- Ability to act as a specialist within Planning
