About HS2

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting eight out of the UK’s ten biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high‑speed services. The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin‑bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.

Key Role & Responsibilities

Our apprentice programme is a great opportunity to gain a recognised qualification from college while working on one of our major projects and earning a salary. By joining us as an Apprentice MEP Engineer, you will be part of the HS2 team supporting the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) delivery across the ventilation shafts and portals on the HS2 London Tunnels project. The role involves supporting all aspects of design assurance, construction, commercial processes and planning. Assist in reviewing MEP design information supplied by consultants and subcontractors. Support constructability reviews and contribute to design coordination meetings with stakeholders. Assist the development and maintenance of MEP Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Help draft and maintain Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
