  • Mobile Mapping Leadership
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of road condition and infrastructure mobile mapping surveys using the latest survey technologies.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve survey capabilities and project efficiencies.
  • Data Processing & Analysis
  • Process, validate, and analyse large-scale mobile mapping datasets using industry-leading software platforms.
  • Extract and manage geospatial information to support engineering, design, construction, and asset management activities.
  • Deliver accurate and reliable survey outputs including; topographical surveys, road condition assessments, asset inventories, digital terrain models, point cloud datasets, 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet project quality standards and contractual requirements.
  • Survey Delivery
  • Carry out conventional survey activities when required, supporting wider project survey operations.
  • Utilise GNSS, robotic total stations, laser scanning equipment, UAVs, and other geospatial technologies to collect accurate survey data.
  • Maintain survey control networks and ensure compliance with project survey control standards.
  • Undertake quality assurance checks to verify accuracy and consistency of all survey outputs.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Present survey results and technical findings to clients, project teams, and senior stakeholders.
  • Produce clear and concise technical reports documenting methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals and commercial quotations for survey services.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, BIM teams, construction managers, and client representatives to ensure project requirements are achieved.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the survey function.
  • Mentor and support junior surveyors and wider project teams in mobile mapping technologies and best practice.
  • Drive the adoption of modern geospatial techniques and workflows across STRABAG UK projects.
  • Support the strategic development and future rollout of mobile mapping capabilities throughout the business.
  • Flexibility
  • Travel to and support other STRABAG UK projects as required.
  • Occasionally work outside standard hours to accommodate operational survey requirements and project programmes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related geospatial field.
  • Professional Member (MRICS) or Fellow (FCICES) status is highly desirable.
  • Valid CSCS card (Manage level preferred) and a full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering mobile mapping surveys on major infrastructure, highways, or construction projects.
  • Demonstrable experience developing mobile mapping workflows and operational procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile mapping processing software, such as Trimble Business Centre (TBC), Leica software solutions, RIEGL software suites.
  • Advanced proficiency in Auto CAD and survey data processing software.
  • Expertise in the use of modern geospatial equipment, including GNSS systems, Robotic Total Stations, Laser Scanners, Mobile Mapping Systems, UAV platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
