We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Plant and Materials Buyer to join STRABAG UK's expanding Power sector, supporting the delivery of transmission and distribution projects across the UK.

STRABAG UK is expanding its presence in the Power sector, supporting the delivery of key transmission and distribution projects that underpin the UK's energy transition and long-term resilience.
Working within a fast-paced infrastructure environment, you will collaborate closely with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to source, negotiate, and manage supply chains that meet both commercial and operational requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining programme schedules, optimising value, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

Requirements:- Provide market competitive procurement solutions for the operating unit which demonstrate best overall value for money.
- Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of materials covering:
- Work winning supply chain selection for Bid Leader
- Construction stage project procurement for Project Leader, including:
- Supporting the production and driving of the procurement schedule
- Supporting the development of work package documents in conjunction with project teams
- Work package procurement
- Previous experience in a procurement or buying role within construction, infrastructure, or utilities sectors.
- Previous experience within electrical/National Grid is desirable.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of work practices, processes and procedures within the construction process from pre-construction stage and into construction stage.
- Good existing business network and relationships with the supply chain.
- Experience of running supply chain events.
- Experience with tendering process.
- Good product and supplier knowledge.
- Good working knowledge of contracts.
- MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
