About STRABAG: STRABAG SE is a leading European technology group for construction services, renowned for its innovation and financial strength. The UK division offers world‑leading services in the water, energy, transport, and building sectors, and is involved in major projects such as HS2 London Tunnels, the HARP (Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme) and the Radlett Project.
Graduate Programme: The STRABAG UK Graduate Programme runs for 15 months and provides intensive development, culminating in accreditations from industry bodies such as IOSH, APM, ISEP, BTS, and IOL. Graduates will also be introduced to professional associations including ICE, CICES and RICS.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver toolbox talks and provide supervision to junior engineers where required.
- Ensure drawings and sketches are fully detailed and aligned with programme sequencing.
- Communicate with foremen and operatives and confirm compliance of method statements.
- Provide accurate and clear setting‑out for works before programming, allowing time for independent checks.
- Inspect works during progress and on completion to confirm construction matches setting‑out information, reporting any non‑conformance to the Engineer / Site Manager.
- Maintain a full and accurate daily site diary, recording changes, variations, subcontractor attendance and key discussions with client / designer / project team.
- Carry out site measurements for control and ordering of materials.
- Execute the duties of equipment engineers and keep a log of all equipment on site, documenting all transfers and off‑hire activities.
- Ensure the site diary records each entry with date, location and serial number of equipment used.
- Minimise environmental disturbance during construction works.
- Travel throughout the UK as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2:1 degree standing.
- No more than 12 months of work experience.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
- Hard‑working with a positive can‑do attitude.
