We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our growing HARP project team in Manchester. This is the perfect time to become a part of the largest critical infrastructure project in the UK.

- Substantial experience in a procurement role with 3 years including significant responsibilities.
- Experience of running procurement packages on numerous major projects.
- Experience with supply chain management requirements on projects.
- Knowledge of integrated IT systems.
- Literate and numerate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience within a construction/engineering or similar background.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager or Project Commercial lead, responsible for delivering specified procurement packages.
- Ensuring group processes are always followed.
- Aiding the Senior Procurement Manager and Head of Procurement on major projects.
- Assisting in delivering the procurement project strategy on all other projects.
- Managing and controlling procurement of packages or project sectors.
- Prioritising and managing package purchasing.
- Leading and attending meetings related to procurement with internal and external parties.
- Reviewing Main Contract conditions and developing subcontract agreements.
- Managing procurement of specific infrastructure packages ensuring best value and contractual adherence.
- Carrying out nominated subcontract procurement including assessment of technical, commercial, contractual, and delivery requirements.
- Utilising expertise of supporting functions for decision-making.
- Reviewing capability of reports and arranging training where required.
- Understanding the Main Contract and compliance in procurement.
- Managing reports including training, upskilling, and performance monitoring.
- Managing nominated suppliers and monitoring trade agreements.
- Monitoring quality and QA systems adherence.
- Liaising with other departments for required input.
- Negotiating and administering purchasing contracts.
- Building supplier accreditation requirements in line with Business Requirements.
- Producing reports and statistics as directed.
- Negotiating payment terms and account management on selected suppliers.
- Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and customers.
- Developing market knowledge and contacts for new products/services; identifying potential suppliers.
- Keeping contract files for future reference.
- Working closely with the supply chain management team, visiting sites and suppliers.
- Promoting the use of internal companies as a first principle in procurement.
- Assisting the supply chain team in monitoring performance, workload, and financial status.
