- Degree, NEBOSH Level 6 or NEBOSH or equivalent qualification with equivalent experience
- Construction experience in HSW site-level roles
- In-Depth Knowledge of Regulatory and Industry Standards including CDM regulations, ISO 45001, and 45003
- Experience with the development of Health and Safety Systems and procedures
- Experience/Knowledge of HSW technology, digitalisation, innovation, and AI implementation and development
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, ability to manage BI Dashboard and similar platforms
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to analyse HSW performance data
- Experience in assurance and auditing
- All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards where site-based work is required
Role Overview
We’re looking for a dynamic and proactive professional with a passion for continuous improvement and strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Provide HSW support to site and project teams as the designated HSW representative, including best practice guidance, investigations, site assurance, inspections, reviews, meetings, and engagement activities. Ensure alignment and compliance with company, client, legal, and industry standards, including coordination with contractors and subcontractors. Support the management of high-risk activities, contribute to behavioural safety and cultural improvement, and maintain a visible on-site presence as required.
Support bid and preconstruction teams with HSW responses, input, evidence, and learning.
Manage the UK HSW assurance programme, including planning, carrying out audits and assurances, developing and maintaining assurance procedures and training.
Ensure ongoing compliance with BS 45001, STRABAG Group requirements, and client standards. Implement, optimise, and maintain HSW digital platforms and systems, including data management and BI tools, identification of trends and significant findings, and development of improvement plans to support project performance.
Manage the health and safety management system and associated documentation.
Oversee project HSW performance reporting and KPI tracking.
Lead the identification and implementation of innovative technologies to enhance HSW outcomes, championing digital transformation to streamline processes, improve user experience, and drive efficiency, while collaborating with teams across the business.
Stay current with emerging technologies, legislation, and industry best practices.
Produce high-quality HSW reports, strategy updates, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with the People & Culture team to develop HSW competency frameworks.
Deliver briefings and training on assurance processes and platform usage.
Develop and manage HSW communications and digital content, ensuring webpages and external resources are current, engaging, and aligned with the company’s vision.
Support and lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to promote learning and continuous improvement.
Support the Better Together safety programme, helping embed a positive HSW culture across all levels of the organisation.
Lead and support HSW meetings, including preparation of reports and materials.
