About the Company

I am working with a large Housing Association who are looking for an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to join their team covering the Isle of Wight region on a contract basis for an initial 6 months.

About the Role

You will be required to have your own vehicle, however mileage would be compensated. As a Stock Condition Surveyor you will carry out internal and external Decent Homes Standard stock condition surveys using a mobile device, including Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments for dwellings only, in line with stock condition survey methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out internal and external Decent Homes Standard stock condition surveys using a mobile device, including Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments for dwellings only, in line with stock condition survey methodology.
  • Demonstrate everyone safe and well everywhere, every day by making health and safety a primary consideration in your decision making.
  • Notify by email of any severe or moderate HHSRS hazards identified, including responding to a small number of additional questions where hazards relate to damp and mould, and providing supporting photographs.
  • Undertake surveys across a wide geographical area, including additional travel where required to complete surveys for outlier locations.
  • Follow agreed no‑access procedures to ensure properties are accurately reported to Asset Management for recording on systems.
  • Effectively manage and prioritise survey diaries to achieve target completion dates.

Qualifications

  • A construction-related degree and/or 5 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

  • Experience in stock condition surveying, ideally in social housing.
  • Knowledge of housing standards and compliance for kitchens, bathrooms, and doors.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel to properties as needed.
  • Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
  • Experience of working within occupied properties.

Pay range and compensation package

The rate will be £350 - £385 per day Inside IR35 (Umbrella) plus Mileage - 45p a mile.
