ISS STOXX LiquidMetrix are hiring for a Market Data Analyst to join the team in London. In this role, you will help evaluate and onboard cross‑asset class data feeds for our Venue Analytics, Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and Trade Surveillance products. As a specialist in market data, you will work closely with expert Product Data and Development teams to deliver project Proof of Concepts (POCs) that help guide project roadmaps and enrich the Product offering for our clients – Investment banks, Brokers, Wealth / Asset Managers and Exchanges.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely across multiple teams (including c‑suite), develop expertise in multiple facets of market data and venue & execution analytics and work with cutting edge products in a fast‑paced environment.
- Develop global market data and referential data coverage.
- Work with teams to onboard new market venues to the platform, including Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equities/ETFs, FX and Crypto.
- Maintenance and enrichment of an extensive reference database, covering global cross‑asset market metadata, instrument listings and company fundamentals.
- Help evolve data QA procedures to deliver high‑quality, robust information to downstream applications.
- Work with the Application Support team to recover from data delivery and processing issues.
- Liaise with vendor network to help identify mandatory feed changes and the required implementation plan for existing feeds.
- Research upcoming market microstructure changes and help produce models on how the business can benefit.
- Undertake analyses of data and construct accurate and insightful reporting.
- Provide clear lines of communication to stakeholders on feed projects and product development.
Analytics & Support
- Understand and help develop deeper analytics across asset classes, including differing approaches to TCA and instrument‑level performance measurements.
- Respond to client requests for new market coverage.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Scripting: SQL (intermediate as a minimum), Python. Experience in object‑oriented programming a bonus.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and complex challenges.
- An understanding of data modelling techniques (both supervised and unsupervised), applying goodness‑of‑fit measures and AI highly desirable.
- Good communication and written skills, and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels, with both internal and external parties.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, including macros, pivot tables, functions & charts. Experience with analytical tools, such as PowerBI, Tableau, Jupyter etc, as well as Rest APIs is desirable.
- Educated to degree level in Finance, Mathematics or similar Quantitative discipline.
- Excellent analytical skills and an ability to understand technically complex problems.
- The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually.
- Experienced in data management and analysis, they will be calm under pressure and have excellent prioritisation skills.
- Proven experience working with financial market data and/or referential data and an interest in further developing a career in Finance.
- Ability to work with, manipulate and analyse large datasets (such as Level 2 and Level 3 orderbook data).
