What You’ll Do

  • Act as the first point of contact for compliance queries, providing clear and timely advice across the firm, and collaborating closely with the COLP and Head of Risk & Compliance.
  • Manage regulatory matters including complaints, breaches, investigations, data subject access requests, audits, and file reviews, reporting findings and gap analyses to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee AML, sanctions checks, client due diligence, and maintain accurate compliance records and registers.
  • Review and refine policies and procedures, lead compliance projects, and deliver training to embed best practice across the firm.
  • Identify, assess, and manage compliance, operational, and reputational risks while staying ahead of regulatory and industry developments.

What’s Our Approach to Work?

You’ll have the flexibility to work from home or from any of our offices that suit your location. Travel will be required to Leeds or Birmingham once a month for team meetings, as well as for compliance training sessions across the firm.

Ideally, you’ll have

  • Experience in a risk and compliance role within a law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of AML, GDPR, sanctions, and SRA Standards and Regulations.
  • Experience in maintaining compliance frameworks, supporting policy updates, and delivering training.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines with flexibility.
  • Desirable: Experience working in an international law firm or family law environment.
