Are you an experienced People professional with a strong background in employee relations? Are you interested in joining the People Team within one of the UK's fastest-growing family law firms? This is a fixed-term contract for an initial period of 12 months, providing maternity cover within our People team. If you're passionate about supporting managers, handling complex people matters, and making a real impact across a growing organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role you’ll:
- Play a key role in supporting employee engagement and team performance, working with managers to identify challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Actively coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in handling people matters, improving both individual and team performance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance management.
- Manage a varied ER caseload end-to-end, ensuring a fair, consistent, and legally compliant approach.
- Work closely with People Partners and operational leaders to support day-to-day people activity across the business.
- Support on M&A and TUPE activity, ensuring a smooth and compliant process and successful colleague integrations.
- Ensure all ER cases are accurately documented and tracked, maintaining high standards of record keeping.
- Proactively keep up to date with employment law and support the ongoing review of people policies and guidance.
- Analyse people data and trends to identify risks and areas for improvement, escalating where appropriate.
- Support onboarding activity by working with Talent Partners and managers to ensure new starters are set up for success.
- Contribute to people projects and initiatives as required.
- Collaborate with the wider People team to continuously improve the colleague experience.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a People Advisor or similar role, with strong employee relations experience.
- Confidence managing ER cases independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to support and influence managers.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with sound judgement.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
