The Opportunity
The internship will be conducted in Stout’s St. James’s office for a minimum period of 10 weeks commencing July 2025. The position is full-time and paid.
Interns at Stout UK work directly with analysts, associates, and senior Stout directors on a daily basis assisting with engagements involving middle-market mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and special situations. Stout’s broad coverage will allow exposure to a variety of industries. Stout UK & Nordics has particularly strong experience in advising companies in the technology, maritime, infrastructure, and industrials sector.
At Stout, you are engaged in real work right away. The program includes formal training, mentoring, networking events, and real-world projects that provide an invaluable look into financial due diligence and life as a Full-Time Analyst.
A typical day might include supporting the team with the following:
- Perform industry and company research
- Analyse financial statements and build financial models
- Perform valuation analyses
- Prepare marketing materials, including pitch books, teasers, confidential information memorandums, management presentations, etc.
- Attend meetings and / or calls with clients and targets
- Drive the transaction process in conjunction with senior bankers

Requirements
An Intern candidate should possess strong analytical, verbal, technical, written, and inter-personal skills, as well as the following:
- Pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related discipline to (corporate) finance and/or economics;
- Prior relatable working experience within financial services;
- An understanding of accounting, corporate finance and/or valuation principles preferred;
- Analytical, problem solving, and research skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail;
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
- Fluency in English required;
- Team player with high performance ethos, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence;
- Must be eligible to work in the UK, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire. (Graduate visa\’s etc. are acceptable)
Students must be currently completing their second year of study or later to apply. Do not apply if you are currently a first year undergraduate as you are not eligible.
