Technical Lead (Delivery Manager)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6-12 months
Location: 1-2 days on site per week in Edinburgh
Pay: negotiable (inside IR35)
We are seeking a Technical Delivery Manager to lead the technical execution of complex software delivery projects. This contract role ensures coordination across Solution Design, Application Experts, DevOps, Configuration and Integration teams, and close collaboration with the client.
Key Responsibilities
– Lead technical delivery and own the project\’s Delivery Model.
– Drive software development, deployment, configuration, and testing activities.
– Build and maintain Work Breakdown Structures; track and report progress.
– Contribute to Agile roles (RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner) as needed.
– Coordinate risk, scope, and change management with the Project Manager.
– Optimise CI/CD processes and support test automation in DevOps environments.
– Support technical customer engagements and ensure delivery commitments are met.
– Promote continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
– Track delivery KPIs such as on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
– Ensure compliance with software delivery processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
– Strong background in software systems development and project delivery.
– Technical expertise in DevOps and Agile methodologies.
– Proficient in Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
– Experienced in multi-site project coordination and operations.
– Process-oriented with strong delivery discipline.
– Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
– Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
– Willing and able to travel.
Desirable Experience
– Familiarity with EMS, DMS, or MMS systems.
– Experience leading offshore/remote teams.
– Knowledge in IT integration, SOA/microservices architecture.
– Development experience in Java or C++.
– Configuration management tools: TFS, SVN, GitHub.
– Cybersecurity and infrastructure knowledge (Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, databases, networks).
