We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a large-scale Commercial Lending transformation programme. This role is ideal for someone with strong banking or financial services experience who can shape product strategy, manage priorities, and work collaboratively across business and technology teams to deliver high-value customer and business outcomes.

Working within an Agile environment, you will act as the key link between business stakeholders, customers, and delivery teams, ensuring the Commercial Lending product roadmap aligns with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for Commercial Lending capabilities.
  • Own, prioritise, refine, and manage the product backlog to maximise business value.
  • Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Relationship Management, Lending Operations, Credit Risk, Compliance, Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery teams.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, product reviews, and prioritisation activities within Agile delivery teams.
  • Balance customer requirements, technical debt, risk, compliance, and platform priorities to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end Commercial Lending lifecycle, including origination, credit assessment, underwriting, pricing, servicing, covenant monitoring, and portfolio management.
  • Support testing, business readiness, training, and change management activities to ensure successful product adoption.
  • Monitor product performance, contribute to OKRs, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
  • Manage delivery risks, dependencies, governance activities, and product-related incidents across multiple initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager within Banking or Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Lending products and end-to-end lending processes.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and prioritising product backlogs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across business and technology teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience translating business requirements into clear, deliverable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering measurable business and customer outcomes.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Lending Origination, Lending Servicing, CRM, or Workflow platforms.
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk, Regulatory Compliance, and Operational Risk.
  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification.
  • Experience delivering digital customer journeys and customer-centric product design.
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale Agile transformation programmes.
