Role Overview
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology team, building and operating a highly available, resilient, and performant cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will focus on automation, ensuring speed, consistency, and reliability across the cloud environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern, app-focused financial services organisation, delivering best-in-class cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation & Delivery: Develop and deploy automation from design to production to improve operational efficiency.
- Agile Collaboration: Work closely within cross-functional teams ('Value Streams') alongside developers and project managers, participating in daily stand-ups and Agile ceremonies.
- Release Management: Configure and deploy software releases using continuous delivery pipelines.
- Best Practices: Ensure engineering processes adhere to scalability, performance, and secure development lifecycle standards.
Technical Essentials
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also acceptable.
- Cloud Fundamentals: Strong understanding of Cloud IAM, networking, Kubernetes, and cloud-native services such as logging and monitoring.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with Terraform.
- Programming Languages: Knowledge in Golang, Python, or similar languages.
- Database Administration: Experience administering Cloud database-as-a-service for Postgres or native Postgres instances.
- Command Line: Skilled with UNIX command line for service analysis and management.
- Web Services: Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, API platforms, and API security concepts.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to analyse logs and platforms to identify root causes of technical issues.
