Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Contract*candidates must have an active DV clearance*Start: ASAPDuration: 6 months+Location: 4-5 days on site in londonRate: up to £755 .day inside IR35We're looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a critical Defence project in London.
This is a hands-on role covering application support, systems administration, production databases and backend infrastructure, working closely with an existing on-site engineer.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support multiple production databases, including MSSQL.- Provide 1st-3rd line support and troubleshoot application/system issues.- Administer Linux and Windows production environments.- Support BAU and backend infrastructure activities.- Automate infrastructure using IaC and scripting.- Deploy and support production services and client IT systems.- Work directly with technical teams and end users.
Essential Experience- Existing UK DV clearance - essential- Strong MSSQL administration experience- Production Linux administration- Infrastructure as Code, ideally Ansible- Docker / Docker Compose- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication and stakeholder skillsDesirable- GitLab / CI/CD- REST APIs- IIS- Jira / Confluence- Keycloak, Grafana, Elasticsearch or NiFi
