About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Shift Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a critical data center environment. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
  • Ensure the site's environmental conditions comply with safety regulations.
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and perform emergency repairs when required.
  • Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet required standards.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Monitor BMS for operational conditions and address HVAC-related issues.
  • Perform facility walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility and plant defects.
  • Follow all safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and quality control measures.
  • Complete all necessary training to effectively perform job responsibilities.
  • Utilize existing procedures to resolve routine issues while adhering to operational guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

Requirements:

  • Training in a technical discipline, having served an apprenticeship or equivalent, with 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the role.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal departments, clients, and management.
  • Ability to follow standard work routines and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Basic math skills to calculate simple figures such as percentages and markups.
