We are seeking an experienced Software Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of a major greenfield software programme from initial planning through to implementation and delivery assurance.

This role requires a commercially aware delivery professional with strong experience managing software deployment teams, coordinating complex project dependencies, and driving delivery across multiple technical and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, planners, third-party vendors and delivery teams to ensure programmes are effectively planned, resourced and executed.

The position would suit someone from a consulting background who is comfortable operating within fast-paced environments and can confidently challenge delivery assumptions, validate technical plans and ensure successful execution across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery activities across a greenfield software implementation programme from inception through to delivery
  • Develop and maintain detailed delivery plans, timelines, milestones and dependencies
  • Work closely with programme planners and technical teams to coordinate delivery activities and resource allocation
  • Validate delivery plans, implementation approaches and resource requirements to ensure realistic and achievable outcomes
  • Review project estimates from both time and cost perspectives, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and available resources
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to understand technical delivery requirements, dependencies and implementation approaches
  • Provide delivery assurance across the programme, identifying risks, blockers and areas requiring escalation or remediation
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and external delivery partners
  • Drive governance, reporting and stakeholder communication throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed scope, timelines, quality standards and commercial expectations
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and provide oversight to ensure delivery plans are technically and operationally credible
  • Support the establishment of delivery frameworks, controls and best practices within the programme environment
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager within complex software or technology programmes
  • Strong experience managing software deployment or implementation teams
  • Experience delivering greenfield projects from initial planning and mobilisation stages
  • Strong understanding of software delivery methodologies and project lifecycle management
  • Ability to understand software architecture and technical delivery approaches sufficiently to validate implementation plans and challenge assumptions where required
  • Experience managing project dependencies, delivery risks and resource planning activities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, suppliers and delivery partners
  • Strong commercial awareness including project estimation, budgeting and delivery forecasting
  • Experience providing delivery assurance and programme governance
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced and evolving project environments
Preferred Background
  • Previous consulting experience highly desirable
  • Strong private sector delivery experience preferred
  • Proven track record delivering complex software programmes within enterprise environments
