SDET – Software Developer in Test
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6-9 months
Location: Durham – must work 4 days per week on site
We’re looking for an experienced SDET to join our fast-paced Technology team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring quality across our platforms by developing fully automated tests and championing best practices in test automation.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop and maintain automated functional tests using modern frameworks (e.g. Appium, Selenium).
– Drive a shift-left testing approach and embed automation in CI/CD pipelines.
– Create and manage test data and contribute to automation framework improvements.
– Collaborate closely with developers and platform engineers on test strategy and implementation.
– Provide technical guidance on automation and unit testing best practices.
– Analyse existing automation and propose enhancements.
– Share improvements and insights with stakeholders and delivery teams.
What you’ll need
– Strong experience as an SDET or in test automation roles.
– Key requirement: experience testing native apps using Appium.
– Hands-on with tools like Postman, Selenium, GitLab, and Jira.
– Skilled in Java and automating tests across UI, API, and microservices.
– Familiar with component, integration, end-to-end, and non-functional testing.
– Solid understanding of agile methodologies and testing principles.
– Self-motivated, analytical, and passionate about new tools and technologies.
