An experienced M&E Shift Technician is required to support the operation of a mission-critical data centre. The role is fully onsite and operates on a continental shift pattern, ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient running of mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver PPM, reactive, and breakdown maintenance on all M&E plant
- Maintain critical environmental conditions at all times
- Fault-find and maintain UPS, generators, HV/LV systems, PDUs, CRAC units, HVAC, and BMS
- Ensure work is completed safely, to standard, and in line with best practice
- Hold or obtain HV Authorised Person status
- Complete all maintenance documentation and shift logs accurately
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure permits and RAMS compliance
- Escalate faults, risks, and incidents to the Shift Manager
- Provide shift cover, lone working, and act as deputy for the Shift Manager when required
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
- 18th Edition (BS7671)
- HV Authorised Person (or ability to obtain)
- Data centre or critical environment experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, generators, UPS, HVAC/chillers, and BMS
Desirable:
- BMS fault-finding experience
