The Role
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Technical Architect to join a delivery team in Glasgow on an initial six-month contract. This role requires proven experience operating at Technical Architect level within complex Salesforce environments, delivering enterprise-grade solutions across multiple Salesforce cloud platforms. The successful candidate will lead technical design activities, conduct design workshops, gather and analyse business requirements, and translate complex business needs into scalable, secure and high-quality Salesforce-based technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with key stakeholders to gather, analyse and prioritise business requirements, transforming them into robust technical designs.
- Conduct design workshops and working sessions to capture functional and non-functional requirements.
- Create, run and present measurable BRD and FSD documentation that aligns business objectives with Salesforce-based technical solutions.
- Own high-level and low-level technical design and development for key solution components.
- Provide best-practice technical guidance and architectural recommendations, including broader systems architecture and CRM strategy.
- Collaborate closely with functional teams to determine optimal solution approaches, including declarative, programmatic and AppExchange-based implementations.
- Design and oversee integration strategies, including REST, SOAP and Salesforce Connect.
- Lead data migration and deployment strategy activities.
- Ensure strong security design, including authentication, authorisation, PII data protection and platform security best practices.
- Maintain awareness of wider solution components, including integration and transformation platforms beyond Salesforce.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on Salesforce experience across multiple Salesforce cloud platforms.
- At least 5 years of experience delivering full lifecycle enterprise technology implementations.
- Proven experience working as a Salesforce Technical Architect.
- Strong background in cloud computing strategy, system design, implementation and operational management.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce configuration, including workflows, validation rules, approval processes, flows, permission sets, profiles and single sign-on.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security and data models.
- Proven implementation experience with Service Console, Live Agent / Omni Channel and Knowledge Management.
- Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP integrations.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce APIs, including Tooling API, Metadata API and Bulk API.

- Advanced expertise in data modelling and enterprise integrations.
- Proven experience leading design workshops and business requirements sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into effective Salesforce technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams, with solid understanding of sprint-based frameworks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with UK-based customers.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure and in critical situations.
