We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to provide high-quality onsite IT support within a fast-paced corporate environment. This role is critical in maintaining operational continuity by delivering responsive technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the effective deployment and maintenance of workplace technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite technical support to end users, ensuring the timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, network equipment, and audiovisual technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve device, operating system, and network-related issues to minimise business disruption and downtime.
- Perform system updates, patching, backups, and preventative maintenance activities to maintain service reliability.
- Manage hardware asset lifecycle processes, including deployment, inventory tracking, shipping, receiving, and equipment recovery.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation of incidents, service requests, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions within the IT service management platform.
- Collaborate with remote support teams and third-party vendors to upscale and resolve complex technical issues.
- Support onsite technology deployments, office moves, equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Travel to additional sites as required to support operational activities, project work, and emergency response requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, health and safety regulations, and customer-specific site requirements.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience supporting end-user hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile phones, tablets, iPads, and audiovisual equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and common enterprise productivity applications.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including connectivity troubleshooting, wireless networking, and basic device configuration.
- Experience performing hardware repairs, system upgrades, preventative maintenance, and equipment replacements.
- Familiarity with IT service management processes and experience using ticketing and incident management systems.
- Ability to accurately document technical issues, root cause analysis, and resolutions.
- Experience working collaboratively with remote technical teams to support escalations and complex issue resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of IT security principles, compliance requirements, and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel between customer and business locations as required.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience supporting Apple iPad, Android tablet, and mobile device management solutions.
- Knowledge of audiovisual systems, meeting room technologies, and collaboration platforms.
- Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle management and inventory control processes.
- Previous experience within enterprise-scale or multi-site field service environments.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365, cloud-based collaboration tools, and modern workplace technologies.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Apple, or ITIL qualifications.
- Experience supporting technology deployment, refresh, or migration projects.
