Day Rate: £510 Inside IR35

The Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team. You need to have good hands-on experience in maintaining CI/CD pipelines using standard tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated tests to ensure application quality and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor and optimise resource utilisation for both containers and virtual machines in OpenShift.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot virtual machines and workloads in OpenShift Virtualisation (OCPV).
  • Automate VM lifecycle operations including provisioning, scaling, migration, backup, and recovery within OCPV.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to integrate testing, deployment, and virtualisation processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in CI/CD, testing, container, and virtualisation environments.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and best practices for both container and VM workloads.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices.

Essential/Desirable Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and GitLab CI for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Proficiency in automated testing tools: Selenium (UI testing), JMeter (performance testing), and Postman (API testing).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift CLI for container orchestration and management.
  • Practical knowledge of OpenShift Virtualisation (OCPV) for VM deployment, migration, and management.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud concepts and integrating VMs with containerised workloads.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
